If the unused aluminum foil sealing gasket is not stored properly, it may become damp, oxidized, or contaminated, affecting the subsequent sealing performance. The following is the correct way to save: 

1. Moisture proof and sealed storage

Aluminum foil gaskets are prone to moisture absorption, especially for models with heat sealing adhesive. It is recommended to place the remaining gaskets in moisture-proof bags or aluminum foil bags, and add desiccants (such as silicone bags), then seal and store them to avoid moisture causing the adhesive layer to fail or the aluminum foil to oxidize.

2. Avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight

Heat sealing adhesive may soften or adhere at high temperatures, and aluminum foil may also age faster due to ultraviolet radiation. It should be stored in a cool and dry place (such as warehouse shelves), away from heat sources (such as heating, direct sunlight windows), and the ideal temperature is recommended to be between 10-25 ℃.

3. Flat or rolled storage to prevent deformation

If the gasket is in the form of a sheet (such as a circular gasket), it should be placed flat and stacked to avoid bending or folding, otherwise it may cause edge warping and affect the sealing fit.

If it is a roll material (such as a long strip gasket), it should be kept in the original packaging roll state to prevent loose deformation.

4. Stay away from chemicals and pollution

Avoid storing with volatile solvents (such as alcohol, acetone) or corrosive substances to prevent the adhesive layer from being dissolved or the aluminum foil from being corroded. At the same time, keep the storage environment clean to prevent dust and oil stains from adhering.

5. Annotate information, first in first out

Label the specifications, batch number, remaining quantity, and opening date on the outside of the packaging, following the principle of "first in, first out" to avoid long-term storage that may cause adhesive aging or material performance degradation.

6. Short term vs long-term preservation recommendations

Short term (<3 months): Sealed moisture-proof bag+stored at room temperature.

Long term (>3 months): It is recommended to vacuum pack or refrigerate (5-15 ℃), but before use, it is necessary to warm it back to room temperature to avoid condensation water affecting the activity of the adhesive layer.

Attention: If the gasket shows dry cracking of the adhesive layer, yellowing or obvious deformation of the aluminum foil, it is not recommended to continue using it to avoid affecting the sealing effect.
